ShockWave® 3 Sound Systems For Smaller Models

The Wingspan size mentioned above is a general guideline only. Please make sure that your own model can accomodate the loudspeakers referenced on this page. Larger loudspeakers will always sound better than smaller ones if your model can accomodate them.

This sound system kit contains everything you need to easily install great quality sound in your medium sized airplane, helicopter, boat or tank models.

The ShockWave 3 sound module includes all our pre-configured Aircraft or Helicopter or Boat or Tank sound sets.

The 4ft of red/black twisted wire is used for both loudspeaker and power connections. You will need to provide and solder battery connectors of your choice and solder the provided wires to the exciters.

Recommended power supply - 3S LiPo.

This system uses one 2inch holeless Exciter instead of a conventional loudspeaker. Exciters work by vibrating the surface to which they are attached. It may be attached to a flat surface (using the self-adhesive double side tape ring) to the inside of your airplane/helicopter fuselage, boat or tank hull etc. without cutting holes for a conventional loudspeaker. It is small and light weight.

However, the sound it produces, both volume and tone, is variable and depends on the type of material to which it is attached. Factors such as type of material, (wood, fibreglass, foam etc.), stiffness, thickness, all play significant roles in determining the volume and quality of the sound.

Thinner, more flexible, materials will produce more sounds and will tend to emhpasize the higher, treble frequencies. Thicker and stiffer materials will be quieter but will produce better low frequency bass sounds.

Dense aircraft foam between 3-5mm (about 1/8inch to 3/16inch) thick works well so try to find an area in your model that has this thickness and is flat.

If you want to change any of the many configurable options or switch the sounds around or add or delete sounds yourself, you should purchase the optional Windows 10/8.1/8/7 ShockWave 3 PC Software here.
