4 Ohm Version

 

8 Ohm Version
Highly recommended for model airplanes and helicopters.
 

This German engineered loudspeaker sounds terrific, yet is shallow and weighs only 176grams. This fine loudspeaker can handle 20 Watts continuous, 30 Watts peak. The 8 Ohm version is suitable for our SFX6 sound module on supply voltages up to 18 Volts.

It can also be used with the SFX6 module on its maximum supply voltage if you turn the volume control on the module down to 3/4 to limit the maximum power output. The 4 Ohm version can be used with our SFX6.4 sound module with no more than a 12 Volt battery. The 4 Ohm version will give double the output power of the 8 Ohm version at this voltage.

If you wish to use the SFX6 module on its maximum supply voltage AND you wish to get maximum volume out of it, then two of these 4 Ohm speakers wired in series should be used.

When two of these speakers are used in series, the output level from our SFX6 sound module (on 26Volts) can be around 106dB. This was measured with the speakers in open air. When housed in a small enclosure, the sound level will be even higher.

This loudspeaker is waterproof so is ideal for model boats. However, it is 7dB less sensitive than the 4" one above so is not as loud.

This German engineered loudspeaker sounds terrific, yet is only 80mm (3.1 inches) square. It is intended for use with our SFX6 sound modules in smaller models on lower supply voltages (up to 15Volts).

This smaller loudspeaker can handle 10 watts continuous, 15 Watts peak.This loudspeaker is intended for use in model boats or tanks and IS NOT recommended for use in model airplanes/helicopters as its lower power handling capacity and lower sensitivity means that it will not play loud enough for a model airplane/heli.

CAUTION : if you want to use this speaker with our very powerful SFX6 sound module you must exercise caution with the volume control to limit the power delivered to this speaker. The SFX6 module could burn out this small speaker if used on supply voltages above 15 Volts.
